The Macallan 15 Year Old Double Cask
This distinctive single malt is renowned for its perfect harmony of flavours, a result of being matured for at least 15 years in a balanced combination of hand-crafted American and European oak casks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry. The American oak imparts notes of vanilla and fresh fruit, while the European oak provides subtle spice and dried fruit warmth, resulting in a sweet, rich, and balanced whisky.
Tasting Notes
- Colour: Golden butterscotch (natural colour).
- Nose: Aromas of dried fruits, butterscotch, and vanilla, with hints of baked apples and smooth oak.
- Palate: Smooth and full-bodied with notes of sweet raisins, sultanas, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel, and creamy vanilla.
- Finish: Medium length with lingering oak and spice, turning to sweet orange and warm ginger
