The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask
This single malt is celebrated for the perfect harmony created by a unique maturation process. The whisky is aged for a minimum of 12 years in a balanced blend of hand-crafted American and European oak casks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry. The American oak offers notes of vanilla and fresh fruit, while the European oak provides subtle spice and dried fruit warmth, resulting in a sweet, rich, and balanced flavour profile.
Tasting Notes
- Colour: Harvest sun (natural colour).
- Nose: Aromas of fudge with candied orange and lemon, alongside vanilla and soft spice.
- Palate: Deliciously honeyed, wood spices (ginger and nutmeg), citrus, caramel, raisins, and resinous notes.
- Finish: Medium with sweet, lingering oak
