The Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask
This distinctive single malt, presented in its 2023 annual release packaging, is renowned for its perfect harmony of flavours. It is matured for 18 years in a balanced combination of hand-crafted American and European oak casks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry. The American oak imparts delicate notes of vanilla and fresh fruit, while the European oak provides subtle spice and dried fruit warmth, resulting in a sweet, rich, and balanced whisky.
Tasting Notes
- Colour: Amber honey, 100% natural.
- Nose: Aromas of dried fruits, ginger, and toffee, with rich candied citrus peel and hints of clove and nutmeg.
- Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla, and ginger, balanced by toasted wood spice and baked apple.
- Finish: Lingering warm oak and citrus, turning to sweet orange.
